How long do NFA accounts last?
Published 27 October 2026
It is the most common question about NFA accounts, and the honest answer is: there is no fixed lifetime. Some accounts are played for months, some stop working much sooner. This guide explains what decides it, what the warranty does and does not promise, and how to get the most out of the account you buy.
Why nobody can promise a date
An NFA account works for as long as nothing outside your control ends it. You hold a login token, not the email the account is registered to, so there are several things you cannot stop:
- The email holder recovers the account or changes its password.
- The login token expires. Steam login tokens carry an expiry date of their own, and none of them lasts for ever.
- The publisher acts on the account under its own rules.
Any seller quoting a guaranteed lifetime is either guessing or promising something they cannot control. Shops that do give a figure usually give a short one, from a few hours to a few days, and what they mean is how long their warranty runs.
What the warranty promises
On nfa.pub, every account is covered for 6 hours from delivery, with up to three replacements per order. If the login does not work inside that window, press Replace on your order page and a faulty account is swapped for a fresh one of the same tier. If you want more time to test it, the optional extended warranty makes it 12 hours for €0.30 per order.
The window is short because that is when problems show up. An account that signs in and plays in its first few hours is an account that was delivered working. What happens to it weeks later depends on the things listed above, which is why no warranty anywhere covers an account for its whole life.
What shortens an account's life
Some things are in your hands, and they matter more than people expect:
- Cheats or scripts. A ban earned on the account ends it, and it is never covered.
- Changing the account's details or settings. It can lock you out, and it voids the warranty.
- Sharing the login. A token used in several places is a token that stops working, and a shared login is never covered.
- Abandoning matches in CS2. Cooldowns are temporary, but repeated ones get longer.
How to get the most out of it
- Sign in soon after delivery and check that everything the listing promises is there.
- If anything is wrong, claim inside the 6 hour window rather than waiting.
- Play normally. Accounts that are played like any other tend to keep going.
- Do not spend money on the account. Anything you buy stays with it.
- If you pre-order a sold-out tier, set delivery hours so the account does not arrive, and use up its warranty, while you are asleep.
What happens to what you put on the account
Everything you add to an NFA account stays with the account: skins you buy, a battle pass, progress, a rating you climbed, friends you add. If the account is recovered or the token stops working, all of that goes with it. Nothing carries over to a replacement either, because a replacement is a different account of the same tier.
That is the strongest reason not to spend money on an NFA account. Play it, enjoy what is already on it, and keep anything you would hate to lose on an account you fully own.
Reading other shops' promises
You will see NFA shops quote very different figures: a few hours, a day, a week, sometimes "lifetime". Almost always the number is the warranty, not the account. Before you compare prices, compare what each shop actually does when an account fails inside its window: does it replace automatically, does it check the account first, and does it say plainly what it will not cover?
Does a more expensive account last longer?
Not in any way a seller can promise. A rated Premier account or a 1,000 hour Rust account costs more because of what is on it, not because it is less likely to be recovered. The email holder can recover an expensive NFA account just as easily as a cheap one.
Inactive accounts, ones nobody has played for at least 14 days, are popular for a related reason: nobody else has been using them lately. That does not change who holds the email, but it does mean the account reaches you quiet.
When it stops working
Inside the 6 hour window: press Replace on your order page. Outside it: open a ticket on our Discord with your invoice ID and a short video of what happens, and a person will look. Refunds, where they are due, are paid as store balance.
Then decide whether to buy again. Many people simply do: at NFA prices, a new account often costs less than the time spent trying to rescue an old one.
Common questions
- How long does an NFA account last?
- There is no fixed lifetime. It works until the email holder recovers it, its login token expires, or the publisher acts on it. Nobody can honestly promise a date.
- How long is the warranty on an NFA account?
- On nfa.pub, 6 hours from delivery, with up to three replacements per order.
- Why do NFA accounts stop working?
- Usually because the email holder recovered the account, the login token expired, or something done on the account, such as cheating, got it banned.
- Can I make an NFA account last longer?
- Play it normally, do not change its details, do not share the login, and do not use cheats. None of that stops recovery by the email holder, but it avoids the causes you control.
- Do my skins or progress move to a replacement account?
- No. A replacement is a different account of the same tier, so anything added to the old one stays with it.
