Can NFA accounts get banned? VAC, game bans and cooldowns
Published 27 October 2026
Yes, an NFA account can be banned, exactly like any other account. What matters is what kind of ban, where it comes from, and whether it was there before you bought the account or arrived afterwards. This guide explains the terms, says which nfa.pub listings are sold ban-free, and sets out how the warranty treats each case.
The terms, briefly
- VAC ban: a ban from Valve Anti-Cheat for cheating in a VAC-secured game. It is permanent for that game and is shown on the Steam profile.
- Game ban: a ban placed by a game's developer or its own anti-cheat, such as a Rust ban. Also shown on the Steam profile.
- Cooldown: a temporary CS2 matchmaking restriction for abandoning, being kicked or similar. It clears by itself.
- Trust factor: Valve's hidden CS2 matchmaking signal. Nobody outside Valve can read it, so any listing claiming a specific trust factor is guessing.
- Trade or community bans: restrictions on Steam trading or community features, separate from playing the game.
Can buying an account get it banned?
Anti-cheat systems detect cheats, not purchases, so simply buying an account does not trigger a VAC ban. What buying does do is break most publishers' terms of service, which forbid selling or transferring accounts. A publisher can act on that if it chooses. That is a rule risk, and it applies to every account shop.
The bans people actually run into come from what is done on the account after it is delivered. Use cheats or scripts and it can be banned like any account, and that is never covered by a warranty.
Which listings are sold ban-free
On nfa.pub a listing only promises what it says, and the ban promises differ by game:
- Rust: every Rust tier, plain and Premium, is sold with no Rust game bans.
- Rainbow Six Siege: the Ranked tier is sold with no VAC or game bans. The playtime tiers are sorted by hours only.
- ARK Ascended: the Inactive 14 Days tier is sold with no VAC or game bans.
- CS2: the tiers are defined by Prime, Premier, medals, rating and items. A VAC ban, game ban or cooldown is exactly what the warranty does not cover, so check the Loader's status before you queue.
- ARC Raiders, Apex Legends, Escape from Tarkov, DayZ, Battlefield 6 and Wardogs: sorted by playtime, and not sold as ban-free.
Does a CS2 VAC ban matter for other games?
Usually not. A VAC ban belongs to the game it was issued in. An ARC Raiders or Wardogs account whose Steam profile carries an old CS2 ban plays its own game exactly as well as one without.
The nfa.pub warranty follows the same logic. For every game other than CS2 and Rust, a VAC ban or a CS2 cooldown reported on the Steam account is ignored, and a claim is judged on one thing: whether you can still sign in.
How the warranty treats bans and cooldowns
The warranty covers an account that does not work as delivered, for 6 hours from delivery. Bans and cooldowns are handled like this:
- CS2: a cooldown or a VAC or game ban is not replaced. Claiming one ends the warranty on that account for good and sends the claim to a person. Other accounts on the order keep their cover.
- Rust: a VAC or game ban is not replaced, and claiming one ends the warranty on that account. A CS2 cooldown is ignored.
- Every other game: CS2 bans and cooldowns are ignored, and a claim is decided on whether the login still works. A ban that game places on the account after delivery is not covered either.
- Any game: a ban picked up after delivery, or one caused by cheats, is never covered.
If you are not sure what you are looking at, open a ticket before you claim. Asking costs nothing; claiming the wrong thing ends the cover on that account.
How to check an account
For CS2, the nfa.pub Loader shows the account's cooldown and VAC status, so look before your first match. Bans of any kind are also listed on the account's Steam profile. If the Loader or Steam shows something the listing says should not be there, claim inside the window.
Common questions
- Can an NFA account get VAC banned?
- Yes, if cheats are used on it, like any account. Buying an account does not trigger VAC, which detects cheats rather than purchases.
- Is a VAC banned CS2 account replaced?
- No. A VAC or game ban is not a faulty account. Claiming one ends the warranty on that account, though other accounts on the order keep theirs.
- Is a CS2 cooldown covered?
- No. A cooldown is temporary and clears on its own, so it is never replaced, and claiming one ends the warranty on that account.
- Are Rust NFA accounts ban-free?
- Yes. Every Rust tier on nfa.pub, plain and Premium, is sold with no Rust game bans.
- Does a CS2 VAC ban affect an ARC Raiders or Apex account?
- No. A VAC ban belongs to the game it was issued in, and the warranty for other games ignores it.
